The Accursed Arrangement

When a viral video surfaced showing a jazz legend spontaneously combusting on stage, the streets of New Orleans became the stage for The Accursed Arrangement. Developed as the official Alternate Reality Game (ARG) for the Overlook Film Festival, this production blended live interactive theatre, digital rabbit holes, and complex puzzles to create a pervasive narrative that haunted participants long after the final curtain.

Led by the frantic Phineas Delaporte, a local music historian, players were recruited into a three-day investigation into the “Devil’s Triad”—a frequency capable of driving crowds into a lethal frenzy.

• Pervasive Storytelling: The mystery began with desperate business cards and “Po’ Boy Band Museum” posters scattered throughout the opening party, launching players into a text-based dialogue with the paranoid historian.
• The Archives & Heists: From sorting through haunted records at the Canal Place Mall to performing a high-stakes “security heist” at Escape My Room, players navigated real-world locations to retrieve the cursed clarinet.
• The Haunted Woodwind: The journey culminated in a surreal, dream-like finale inside the instrument itself, where players confronted Lemhok, a centuries-old demon cat, and made a final moral choice that decided the city’s supernatural fate.
